The Hawaiian Island are so associated with the Japanese December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor that its easy to forget it has a native population, like any territory (as it then was) or state, which served in the armed forces just like those of any other.
This is a memorial to those who lost their lives in the Haleiwa region of O'ahu, while serving in the U.S. military.
Haleiwa is n the island's North Shore.
